Michael Kahn has focused his legal practice in criminal defense for over 30 years. After graduating from Rutgers College and Rutgers Newark Law School, he began his career in Manhattan doing criminal defense work for the officers of the New York City Police Department. Several years later, he returned home to New Jersey and worked as a senior trial attorney for the State Public Defender’s Office, handling thousands of serious felonies. In 1990, Michael went into private practice handling significant felonies, including huge drug distribution conspiracies, bank robberies, sexual assault cases, stock fraud and other white collar crime. During this time, he expanded his practice into federal criminal defense. In 1998, he tried one of the longest criminal trials in America, which involved tax fraud of $140 million. His client was found not guilty.
Since 1980, Michael has aggressively defended the rights of the accused with the goal to always obtain extraordinary results. His stellar record for not losing a significant trial in the last decade is a testament to his expertise as a leading South Jersey criminal defense lawyer.
